This is my collection of favorite Dutch oven recipes. Some of these recipes are creations of my own, some are creations of friends, and a few are old time favorites.
Remember good Dutch oven food, just like fine dining, is all about quality. Keep this in mind when creating or preparing your own outdoor Dutch oven recipes. Always remember 'You get out of your Dutch oven what you put into it'. In other words, if you want your food to be the
best it can be, then be sure to use the best ingredients when preparing it. (If a recipe calls for butter, use butter, not margarine).
I am always on the lookout for more Dutch oven recipes. If you have a favorite recipe you would like to share please send it to me. If I post your recipe I will be sure you receive credit for it.
Hopefully I have documented these recipes so you will be able to follow them easily. If not, please send me your comments or questions and I will try to fix my mistakes.
New Update: I have received a lot of email from folks asking for baking temperature conversions so they can prepare these recipes in their kitchen ranges. I do a lot of cooking in my oven at home and
with exception to the breads and roll recipes and the two beef brisket recipes I bake everything on this page at 350° F.. The bread and roll recipes I bake at 400° F., and the brisket recipes I bake at 300° F.. Baking in the oven this way you don't have to worry about rotating
your ovens to keep from developing hot spots, but I still lift the lids occasionally and baste or stir the food inside.
